Welcome to the library guide for Professor Maybeth Stalp's Sociology of Culture (SOC 3060/5060) course.  This Library Guide (as revised February 2014) will remain available throughout the semester, so please note the url for future reference:

Our session together will include:

  1. A quick review the information provided under each of the numbered tabs of this library guide.
  2. Primary focus on the use of Sociological Abstracts, and selected other research tools.
  3. Hand's-on time for you to begin/continue research on your individual project topic.

During the hands-on time I will be happy to provide assistance to you regarding research on your project topic.

As you pursue your research following this session, I encourgage you to take advantage of the services provided by the Rod Library's Reference and Instructional Services Department and the expertise of our reference librarians.  Please remember, you may request an individual research consultation with a librarian.

I also welcome any comments or suggestions you have for how this instruction session and/or reseach guide might be improved to better serve students in the future.  Please take the opportunity to complete the feedback form under Tab #9 at the conclusion of this session and later in the semester if you return to this guide for assistance.

Best wishes for an exciting and successful research project!
