Source Evaluation

  • Look for "About Us" section/links to learn more about the organizations and what the purpose of the webpage may be
    • Usually located at top and/or bottom of page, but occasionally on the upper left hand side of the page
  • Government (.gov) or Educational (.edu) sites are typically more credible, but it doesn't mean that .org and .com sites are not.  With .org and .com sites, you as the consumer have to do more extensive evaluation of the webpage to know if it's a credible website.
