Search Tips for ERIC and Education Full Text

Tip #1:  Select "TX All Text Fields" from drop down next to search boxes.

Tip #2: Use quotation marks when searching for a phrase or term with multiple words.

For example:  When searching for higher education, enter "higher education" in the search box.  This will help you retrieve relevant articles in a more efficient manner.

Tip #3: Use the word OR to make your search more expansive/inclusive.

For example: If you are looking for articles about medical/health care professions, you might want to search for:

careers AND (medicine OR nursing OR "physical therapy" OR "massage therapy").

This is one way to search using a number of alternative terms at the same time.

Tip #4:  How are search results sorted?  In some cases "Most Recent" is the default, in other "Relevance" may be the default.  Take a look at both options and how they can affect the order of your results.
