Industry Information

Use this guide to find tops and resources intended to help you conduct industry research.

Databases

The tools in this section index and in many cases provide the full text of articles in trade journals, scholarly journals, in general business magazines, and in newspapers such as the Wall Street Journal.

Trade journals are magazines that focus on a particular industry or occupation.

These links go directly to the source if you are accessing from on campus. If accessing from off-campus, you will be prompted to enter your CatID. All of the online sources in this section are also listed under Databases A-Z.

The search forms for these databases such as ABI/INFORM  and Business Source Complete include a box that can be checked to limit results to scholarly or academic or peer-reviewed journals. This method does not work perfectly, but it will produce results that are more likely to be from academic journals.

Interlibrary Loan

If an article is not free on the Internet or free to students because Rod Library subscribes,  the article may be available through the Interlibrary Loan Service. Log on to this service, called ILLiad, and provide details for the article you would like to obtain.
