Can I stream Rod Library or personal DVDs in my eLearning page or in class?
Possibly. There are many factors influencing this, including but not limited to copyright law, producer/publisher restrictions, and various sources of funding depending upon course type (Distance Education, Continuing Education, or departments).
Streaming rights for a single film can cost $300 or more, and the library's limited budget may not be able to support all requests. All requests are considered on a case-by-case basis and require ample advanced notice (the prior semester is optimal).

What alternatives are there?

Some sites may be ad-supported. Films are not previewed by Rod Library staff and should be previewed by faculty.
Rod Library staff recommend that physical DVDs (library copies and/or personal copies) be placed on reserve if needed for course use. This ensures films are ready when needed for in-class showings and are available outside of class for individual student viewing.
