Free browser extension that adds pdf links (as well as retraction notice) within common search tools such as Google Scholar, PubMed, etc. Links to both free and library-provided subscription content if you search for University of Northern Iowa when setting up the extension. Supported by UNI IT as of November 2025.

Many colleges/universities have online repositories that house articles and other works by faculty & students. These are usually run by the campus library system. If you find an article citation, determine the main author's home institution and search the school website for a repository. Then you can search by author name or article title.
