Thesis & Dissertation Submission Process

Details for submitting a thesis / dissertation and meeting all Grad College submission requirements

Note: This guide outlines the Graduate College process. Ensure you check with your advisor for any information about departmental / programmatic requirements.

Fall 2021 Deadlines


November 5, 2021: Review Deadline

November 10, 2021: Application for spring graduation due through Student Center*

December 6, 2021: Submission due in to the Graduate College in order to be eligible for fall graduation.

December 17, 2021: final day students can apply for graduation (with a late fee) all applications received after this date will be considered for a future term.

Spring 2022 Deadlines


April 1, 2022: Review Deadline 

April 1, 2022: Application for spring graduation due through Student Center*

May 2, 2022: Submission due in to the Graduate College in order to be eligible for spring graduation.

May 13, 2022: final day students can apply for graduation (with a late fee) all applications received after this date will be considered for a future term.

FORMS

Committee Appointment Form (find one applicable to degree type)

Committee appointment forms should be submitted as soon as a committee has been formed. They must be submitted before a work can be submitted for review.

Final Approval Form (find one applicable to degree type)

Once the student successfully defends their work, an approval form should be submitted. This is an electronic form that will workflow to the committee chair and any other required approvers. Students will not receive notification of approval until after the Graduate College completes the final check and remaining steps are completed. Students should submit their electronic copy to gradcollege@uni.edu as soon as this is submitted (not approved).

Fall 2021 Formatting Workshops

These workshops cover the formatting requirements for thesis-track MA, MAE, MS, and EdS students. Students who have a few chapters or partial selection drafted may benefit the most, though students at any point in the process are welcome to attend. The workshops will use Microsoft Word. If using LaTeX or another software, please contact the Thesis Reviewer.
