NEAR OR FAR: Rod Library is committed to giving UNI distance learners access to the Library's print and electronic collections in a timely manner so that students can successfully complete course assignments and university degrees without having to travel to campus.
All currently enrolled distance learners receive a brochure summarizing library services and a University ID card (per request) from the Division of Continuing Education and Special Programs (Guided Independent Study students receive a letter with their university ID number instead of a UNI ID card). This website provides information about how to access library resources and how to request books, articles, and help.
OFF-CAMPUS ACCESS: To ensure access to all of the licensed library resources when you are off-campus and using OneSearch!, sign into the “Hello Guest. Login for full access” link found above the purple tool bar at the top of the OneSearch! page. Your CatID credentials are used for off-campus access into licensed library resources. See "What is my CatID?”for more information.
RESEARCH: Use the Rod Library home page to search all of the Library's resources.
REQUEST ARTICLES AND BOOKS: All requests for ARTICLES and BOOKS should be submitted through ILLiad our Interlibrary Loan system. Click here to submit your requests for articles and books via ILLiad. Books will be sent to your home and articles will be scanned and emailed to you.
In order to receive Rod Library's extra document delivery services for distance learners, you must be taking a class through the Continuing Education and Special Services Division and live outside the greater Cedar Falls/Waterloo metropolitan area (See Metropolitan Area box on this page). All currently enrolled UNI students are able to access Rod Library's licensed databases from off campus.
