Library Survey FAQ

What is the library survey?

The library survey (LibQUAL+®) is a survey developed by the Association of Research Libraries (ARL). Its purpose is to provide academic libraries with a standardized effective method to measure the quality of library services. For more information about the LibQUAL survey see the FAQ's page.

What can the Rod Library learn from the results?

  • How the UNI community rates library resources, services and spaces
  • Priorities for improvements to meet teaching, learning, and research needs
  • How we compare to other participating libraries to determine best practices

Who can participate?

Any current UNI students, faculty and staff who are 18 years or older can participate in the survey.

Is there a chance to win something by filling out the survey?

To be eligible for a chance to win a prize, enter your email in the last question and answer every question on the survey. If you opt-in, your email will be placed into the drawing for one of the four $50 or one of the forty $20 Amazon gift cards. Per UNI Policy: Gift card winners will have their name and UNI ID number reported to the Office of Business Operations (OBO) for tax purposes.

How and when do I complete the survey?

The survey will be available from Feb 19, 2024 through March 8, 2024.  Just click on the provided link or go here!

22) Making electronic resources accessible from my home or office

How is the privacy of the participants protected?

The LibQUAL approach to confidentiality is guided by the ethical standards of the American Psychological Association (https://www.libqual.org/resources/irb). No identifying links between responses and the individual responding will be retained and only aggregated data will be reported.

How will I see the results?

The results and our plans to respond to them will be broadly distributed to the UNI community and beyond once they have been analyzed. The aggregated results will be shared with the UNI community on this FAQ page once they are available [Click the report].
