Note: The following guidance pertains to articles NOT AVAILABLE in electronic full text through the Rod Library website.
Students should request articles through the ILLiad document delivery system. All requests for ARTICLES and BOOKS should be submitted through ILLiad.
Library staff will scan and post in-house articles through ILLiad for distance learners. If Rod Library does not own an article, staff will attempt to get a copy from another library. In some cases, there is a charge to acquire the article and these charges are passed on to the student. Library staff will inform distance learners if there are charges associated with obtaining articles through interlibrary loan.
After you log in to ILLiad using your University CatID, you will be able to submit, view, and track your requests efficiently.
Submit requests for books and articles through the ILLiad system.
Articles freely available on the Web and in licensed resources will be sent to the student. Articles available in print format at Rod Library will be scanned and put into ILLiad for distance learners. Articles not owned by Rod Library will be ordered through Interlibrary Loan from another library and will be sent electrnoically t the student whenever possible.
The interlibrary loan service usually takes between 10 days and 3 weeks to fill.
Books owned by Rod Library will be checked out and sent to the distance learning student's home address. Students can use the Books/Media search to identify books owned by Rod Library. The library absorbs the cost of mailing books to distance learners. The distance learner is responsible for returning books to Rod Library. Distance learners can return books by sending them through the mail (using the enclosed mailing label) or by dropping them off at Rod Library. Rod Library has access to over 60,000 electronic books. You can conduct a search for electronic books by entering a keyword and ebrary (e.g., education and ebrary).
You can request books not owned by Rod Library through the ILLiad interlibrary loan system. Please remember that you will have the book for a shorter amount of time than an on-campus student because ttime is allowed for mailing back to the lending library by their due date.
