About the Geisel Award

The Theodor Seuss Geisel Award is one of the book awards given by ALSC, the Assocation for Library Services to Children, which is a division of the American Library Association.

First presented in 2006, the Geisel Award is given annually to author(s) and illustrator(s) of books for beginning readers that demonstrate creativity and imagination to engage children in reading.
