Use Advanced search

Search by either Keyword, Title or Subject

Set the Year (publication date) to recent years (e.g. 1985 to: 2023)

Most of the books found in WorldCat will need to be requested via interlibrary loan

Provides access to articles from 51 history journals and indexing to articles from another 64 history journals. Use Advanced Search (found as an option under the horizontal lines icon beneath "Menu").

In Advanced Search you can check the box for journal articles under "Content Type" and History under "Research Area".

Use Interlibrary Loan to request articles found in journals not owned by Rod Library.

UNI has full access to 14 history journals. Though some of the articles in the remaining 57 Cambridge University Press history journals are open access - many of these articles will need to be requested via Interlibrary Loan

After searching limit results to Articles, Publication Date, and Subject = History.

Note - you can also limit results by Access to UNI-owned articles - or leave this option unchecked (in which case many of the articles will need to be requested via Interlibrary Loan).

Note - Cambridge Core also identifies books (and book chapters) published by Cambridge University Press. In most instances these books will need to be requested via Interlibrary Loan

Library Discovery Systems (like UNI Rod Library’s OneSearch) can be used to identify both books and journal articles. Searches can be limited by title and subject. Results can be limited by format, peer-review, and publication date.

The following Discovery Systems – from universities with premier history programs – will help you identify secondary sources not owned by UNI. Check sources found with these Discovery Systems against OneSearch and if not owned by UNI request them requested via Interlibrary Loan).

Be sure to utilize Advanced Search options when available and to limit your search results to specific formats of information when possible.
