Edgar Lee Masters was a prominent literary figure of the time. He is probably best known for his biographies of American figures such as Mark Twain and Abraham Lincoln. Outside of his biographical and poetic work, he was also a political activist and attorney, writing essays on many of the legal issues of his time. --- Nathan Spicer
