The Rod Library Special Collections & University Archives collects, preserves, and provides access to rare, valuable, and delicate collections of books, manuscripts, and institutional records. Many materials from SC&UA have been digitized and are available online in ScholarWorks.

IndexUNI is Rod Library's online index of articles from official campus publications, dating from 1876 to the present. These publications are available for use in person at the Special Collections & University Archives Reading Room, located on the 3rd floor of Rod Library. Some are also digitized in ScholarWorks.

The UNI Museum serves as an educational facility for museology and seeks to inspire critical thinking about world cultures and the natural world through original research, innovative technologies, educational programming, and exhibits. Through the use of material culture, the museum encourages multi-disciplinary learning opportunities to foster student and community engagement resulting in a deep appreciation of diverse cultural groups.

The Cedar Falls Historical Society has an archive containing city directories, yearbooks, historic photographs, postcards, manuscripts, voice recordings, videos, family papers, and more related to the history of Cedar Falls. Access is by appointment only.
