Dr. Katharine Hayhoe is the director of Texas Tech University’s Climate Science Center and a prolific publisher and leading communicator on the topic of human impact on the environment. Hayhoe also is an evangelical Christian, whose work aims to challenge the notion that faith and science are incompatible. She presented Climate Change and Faith: Why Facts are Not Enough during an evening keynoteon October 24, 2019.
Justin Brice Guariglia is a contemporary artist known for his large scale photographic, sculptural and installation based works that explore the relationship between humans and the natural world. He presented We Are the Asteroid: Art and the Ecological Crisis on November 13, 2019.
Erin Brockovich is a consumer advocate and environmental activist known for building a case against Pacific Gas and Electric Company of California in 1993, which was dramatized in the 2000 film Erin Brockovich. She presented The Power of One on February 25, 2020.
Ben Hoksch, UNI graduate, botanist, environmentalist, and musician, known for his adventures including solo trip down the Mississippi River in 2012 presented a talk on March 6, 2020.
