Rod Library has a lot of data to be translated into insights but has a lack of resources, whereas the mathematics and computer science departments have potential needs for student course projects.

  • A. Demonstrate the impact of library resources and services on student, faculty, & staff successes better
  • B. Make library services/resources more user-friendly and more accessible
    • B1. Automatize labor-intensive manual work
    • B2. Streamline processes or workflows
    • B3. Integrating datasets into an easily accessible system

Goals (results/directions/questions)

To develop well-scoped library assessment projects, which can be utilized as course projects for undergraduate students who need real-world experiences to support students’ academic and career success and enhance a new type of partnership with the Department of Computer Science/Math, as well as UNI data science/business analytics programs

Objectives (actions/steps)
  • Contact faculty who have been using project-based learning
  • Review a list of courses in mathematics, computer science, and business
  • Identify and contact the most appropriate faculty in mathematics, computer science, and business who will be interested in real-world projects
  • Create a MOU if needed
